I was an NFL 2K guy back in my sports-gaming prime—I stick to platformers and JRPGs now—but I'm willing to get infuriated off the fumes from ...

The St. Louis Rams are now being tied to USC wide receiver Robert Woods in early 2013 NFL Mock Draft futures with the same frequency they were tied to Justin Blackmon in 2012 and Julio Jones in 2011, so it's worth asking: What could the Rams reasonably expect if they were finally able to catch one of these top-of-the-first-round receiver white whales? The 2012 NFL offseason is winding down for the St. Louis Rams. The club has signed most, if not all, of its free agent targets, and the draft is now little more than a memory. With the Rams roster settling down, I think it's safe to say that the team has drastically improved from 2011.

Between the stigma of the league's 'Bountygate' findings and the loss of linebacker Jonathan Vilma (suspened for the entire season) and defensive end Will Smith (suspended for the first four ganmes), perhaps no NFL defense has ever gone into a season with more of a chip on its collective shoulder.

Speed kills. That is the phrase you thrown around in sports, and it's so true. In just about any sport, speed is a valuable commodity to have. For the St. Louis Rams , they drafted Chris Givens in the fourth-round of the NFL draft for several reasons, but above all else, the Rams drafted Chris Givens because he is really, really fast. Givens ran a 4.37 in the 40 yard dash . That put him on the ...

Once considered a can’t-miss prospect, the Arizona Cardinals' Beanie Wells has had far too many knee issues to make him a reliable fantasy option in 2012. He was downright nasty at times last year in posting his first 1,000-yard season. Beanie’s total last year was a little less than his total over his first two years. Beanie also had 10 touchdowns, which was one more than his previous two ...

Some time before tipoff tonight, an employee in the NBA ’s hallowed, holier-than-thou offices will grumble about a Western Conference Finals involving teams from San Antonio and Oklahoma City. And he or she shouldn’t. Instead, all of the league’s decision makers should consider a round of cartwheels, back flips or somersaults. If the thought of body gymnastics sounds less than appealing to David ...

Jake Long's kid brother didn't bother staying close to the phone during the NFL draft. Neither did Bobby Hebert's son.
